How to Accessorize in the Winter
Winter clothing can get boring as the cold weeks drag on. Wearing the same bulky coat everyday gets old really fast, making you miss the warm weather that much more. Rather than spending the money on a variety of different coats, you can instead add some great accessories to jazz up an outfit and make that old coat feel brand new again! Here are some of my favorite ways to accessorize in the Winter.
Belts Are Your Best Friend
Something as simple as a great belt can make a world of difference, turning an oversize sweater into a dress, giving new life to an ill-fitting skirt, or reviving your outerwear. I love to pair a cute belt with my coat to add dimension and define my silhouette. You can opt for a thin belt for an understated look, or go for a wide chunky one for a little more flare.
Make a Statement with your Earrings
NYC in the Winter looks like a sea of black coats, giant scarves, and fur-lined hoods. You won’t be able to notice your beautiful new necklace or your favorite bracelet under all the layers, but there is some visible real estate on your ears! I love to wear a pair of hoops or some statement earrings to make my outfit pop.
Protect Your Eyes in Style
I spend a lot of time in LA, so sunglasses are pretty much a necessity and I never leave the house without a pair. Sunglasses are the perfect way to add a little fashion flair to your Winter wardrobe. They come in every color and style imaginable, so find a pair that exudes your style to set yourself apart.
Glam it Up
It’s easy to fall into the Winter blues and put less effort into your looks during the cold months. Instead, use the season to try out new makeup looks! Your body may be covered head-to-toe, but you can still make a statement with a bold lip color, a little glimmer on your lids, or a perfectly-lined cat-eye.
Winters can get tough, but with these tips, you’ll be able to revitalize your wardrobe and get excited about the cold spells! Bundle up, stay warm, and don’t forget to accessorize!
